This project was the culmination of an entire semester of sampling different shibori dye and low immersion dye (which uses little to no water) patterns. Everything was dyed by hand with Pro MX dyes. At the end of the semester, I dyed cloth with specific patterns and colors and used the fabric to construct a set of soft kitchen goods - two placemats, two napkins, an oven mitt and a potholder. All the pieces are fully functional and safe to use in the kitchen.
